At OBSC we are already thinking of warmer weather and the start of our Spring Rec Season.
We do, however, need to touch base and clarify something that seems to be a continuing issue:
Friend / Teammate Requests
Please note, every child is allowed ONE (and only one) valid teammate request.
Additionally, teammate requests can only be made on our website during the registration process. (You can always log into your account and update or verify your information)
We only honor player-for-player requests
For example
Mary Smith requests Jane Jones & Jane Jones requests Mary Smith
We will not honor any chain or 2-person request, nor will we honor a player request to be with a coach.
The OBSC Recreation Program is designed to create a fun, exciting and welcoming place for our children to learn and play soccer.
We draft new teams every season. This gives everyone a chance to meet new players and play for different coaches - which also helps to broaden the players experiences both off and on the soccer pitch, and gives all the ability to meet and make new friends.
We are being inundated with email requests for children to be placed on the same team. Any requests received via email will not be granted. Friend requests can be made one way, during the registration process.
Unfortunately, any request not made properly, through the registration process, will be rejected.
Thank you for your time, and we will leave you with this quote, taken from another sports club in town, dealing with a similar issue:
“Please realize that this is a recreational league for our community. Players on an opposing team are not adversaries or enemies, they are friends, classmates, and neighbors. It is ok to play a game against your friends, and still be friends.”
